D. Jeffrey Craven, Esq.

D. D. Jeffrey Craven is a founding member of Smith & Craven, P.L.L.C.  Mr. Craven is a published author, and has participated as teaching faculty in legal education seminars.  During his thirteen years of law practice, Mr. Craven has represented an assortment of corporate clients and some non-profit organizations.  His clientele have included numerous contractors and real estate developers, as well as businesses of nearly every other type.  He practices commercial, construction and real estate litigation.  He also practices transactional law, assisting in the formation of companies, providing corporate updating and maintenance on existing companies, and providing general counsel to those companies he represents.  He also assists in the purchase and sale of company interests, prepares buy-sell agreements and other corporate transactional documents. 

Mr. Craven also practices in real estate transactions, including drafting documents and conducting pre-purchase review, assisting in due diligence review, preparing easements and drafting other real estate transactional documents.  As part of his real estate practice he also assists clients in both judicial and non-judicial foreclosures.

Mr. Craven has practiced before state and federal courts, the Registrar of Contractors, the Office of Administrative Hearings, and in private arbitration before the American Arbitration Association.  As of 2007 Mr. Craven is a Judge Pro Tempore before the Maricopa County Superior Courts, acting as a settlement judge and covering calendar for commissioners.

Other Interests

Jeff is a devoted husband and father of two daughters.  When Jeff is not busy aiding clients, he spends time assisting his wife in shepherding his two daughters to dance, piano, swimming and modeling/acting classes.

Jeff is a self-professed fanatic of all things automotive, having grown up around the automobile industry (his father was a Porsche mechanic, salesman and dealership manager).  He is known to study automotive history.  He is a sports car racing fan and enjoys European rally and Formula One.  He also attends various car shows, often spending a couple hours on a Saturday evening attending the regular car show a the Scottsdale Pavillion shopping mall.  Jeff is also a 2000 graduate of the Skip Barber racing school. 

Jeff is also an avid Diamondbacks fan.
