About the firm

Founding partners, Gary Michael Smith and D. Jeffrey Craven formed Smith & Craven, P.L.L.C. to foster their particular modern-style of boutique law firm practice. Emphasizing strong ties to every client, one of Smith & Craven's primary practice goals is to make certain that each client gets treated as if it were the firm's only client. To achieve that goal Messrs. Smith and Craven emphasize direct client contact. Unlike many larger older law firms that use a partner to do client intake and then assign the work to a host of unseen paralegals and junior associates, Messrs. Smith and Craven make certain that they are the primary participant in their clients' representation, from intake through conclusion of each matter. Additionally, Smith & Craven utilize the latest technology to enhance their legal services. Together with a host of proprietary software that manages their practice, on small and large cases alike, Smith & Craven uses advanced digital imaging and databases to track every document, client, and case. Messrs. Smith and Craven each have more than 10 years experience in complex commercial and construction litigation and are co-authors of the 2002 book, Construction Lien Law in Arizona . In addition, Mr. Smith published his second construction industry book, The Orange Book, Practice and Procedure before the Arizona Registrar of Contractors and Office of Administrative Hearings, in May 2003. Mr. Smith is licensed to practice law in the Courts of Arizona, Colorado , New York and North Carolina . Mr. Craven is licensed to practice law in the Courts of Arizona, California , and Hawaii .
