Frederick Charles Thomas, Esq.

Frederick Charles Thomas is Senior Associate Attorney at Smith & Craven, P.L.L.C. whose practice areas include construction litigation, commercial transactions, and personal injury / insurance claims.  Fred is licensed both in Arizona and California and has extensive experience in complex construction litigation, including delay damages, bond claims, and general contract interpretation.

While practicing in California Fred also represented habeas corpus clients before the California Supreme Court and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.   Further, Fred acted as lead counsel or assisted on the prosecution of numerous personal injury cases, some of which include the following notable cases:

  1. 2005- Stanislaus County Superior Court Case No 348787.  Represented a son who was assaulted at his father's funeral by the funeral director.  Settled matter without going to trial. 
  2. 2004-Toxic Mold Case, Alameda County Superior Court,.  Represented the plaintiff in a Toxic Mold Case against a defendant apartment owner.  The case settled three days before scheduled trial.  Plaintiff settled for over $200,000.00 in damages.
  3. 2002-Sacramento County Superior Court Case #02AS05192, as a law clerk and attorney, represented a driver in an uninsured motorist claim, both driver and passenger grossed a settlement of over $150,000.00. 
  4. 2004-Kern County Superior Court-Premises Liability, arbitrator awarded Plaintiff $99,999 damages for injuries resulting from a truck stop's negligent maintenance of its parking lot.

Prior to attending law school Fred worked for American Family Insurance as an adjuster, where he gained a wealth of knowledge and experience handling a variety of bodily injury and auto theft claims.

In his off hours, Fred enjoys golf and hiking. Fred is S.C.U.B.A. certified and is also an accomplished snow boarder and pistol shooter.
